This series consists of registers used to record transactions of the Mount Pleasant Indian School. Included are registers for storehouse issues which summerize costs of acquisitions from the central warehouse of the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Included are registers of disbursement vouchers, which show amount, name of payee, and general category of the expenditure; registers of collection vouchers, which contains the names of remitter and amount; and recapitulation registers with summaries of monthly expenditures by account or appropriation number.

Mount Pleasant Indian Industrial Boarding School in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, was established by an act of the United States Congress in 1891. This provided funding for creation of an education system of off-reservation boarding schools and vocational training centers to educate Native American children.
